Services Offered

Acupuncture

The origins of Acupuncture are centered in the stimulation of specific points that carry high electrical conductivity and correspond with the different organ systems to communicate a desired response in the body. The meridians serve as routes of connection and communication between the 12 organs and their respective physiological processes to promote optimal functioning and immune health.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is an ancient technique of scraping the muscle layer over areas that may feel tight or painful. The Gua Sha works by breaking up stagnant blood and allowing fresh circulation to supplement the muscles while detoxifying the tissue. In the process, a “sha” will appear on the skin indicating the dispersion of old blood that was likely causing tension in the body.

Moxabustion ~ Jiu Fa

Moxabustion is the application of heat using rolled and dry-aged Mugwort to stimulate points similar to acupuncture. The steady burning rhythm of Mugwort enhances the therapeutic transfer of heat to disperse blockages and promote the movement of Qi and blood through the channels. Some of the earliest discovered texts of Chinese Medicine dating back to 100-200BC suggest most treatments implemented a conjunction of using both Moxa and needles.

Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine encapsulates a historical culmination of study on the medicinal properties of over 400 natural products both individually and in combination with other herbs or minerals. The dynamic nature of herbs congruently works with acupuncture by relieving symptoms and prolonging the effects of treatment while addressing the root causes of disease through both regulating and altering the biochemical processes in the body. Overtime, Herbal Medicine can bring the mind and body back into homeostasis without the risk of side effects or addictive properties.

Cupping Therapy ~ Ba Guan Zi

Cupping acts like a suction over the skin to release adhesions and areas of stagnation by drawing blood flow to the region, dispersing congestion and draining toxins. Cupping can be especially useful for colds, flus and coughs when there is fluid accumulating in the lungs.

“The Way of the Dao is to be natural” ~ Lao Tzu
